I set a record with this birth!  Definitely not a record I wanted to have though:  “Longest Amount of Time to Miss a Birth By.”     This was moms 3rd baby, 2nd vbac, 1st homebirth and she decided to go out with a bang!  I got the text to come at 4:55 AM, was out the door by 5, but baby girl was born only 7 minutes later before any of the birth team had arrived!  Daddy was the baby catcher and the place of birth was in front of the bathroom counter.    :-)   Annie knew she needed to come on out before her 2 crazy older brothers woke up!

This birth was completely thrilling to me!  I kept hearing that Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Ft Worth did indeed “do” waterbirths, but somehow my clients just weren’t the ones having them ~ until Kacie came along!  I was so excited to finally see this for myself!  One more reason to love the area that we are in ~ moms have SO many options available to them!

Thought I would share a couple pictures of my oldest daughter real quick because she turned 9 years old today and it is partly due to her that I am a birth photographer now!   I had a cesarean with my oldest child, my son, which I was and am fine with.  I decided that I wanted to have a VBAC during my pregnancy with Paityn because I wanted that bonding time immediately after her birth.  It was during those 38+ weeks that I developed the obsession with all things birth that led into this whole birth photography gig 5 years later.
