You don’t know how happy I am to be posting these particular pictures of this waterbirth!  This mama had rented and set up this birth pool obviously hoping to deliver in it, but her labor went so quickly that she almost wasn’t able to get in!  Thank goodness she had such a super cool birth team who helped heat the water and then cool the water (I was no help in this area…  What do you mean 107 degrees is too warm to birth in?!)  and then encouraged her to get in just MINUTES before little man made his debut!

I think this little cuties nickname needs to be Mr. Bright Eyes because before he was even completely born he had his eyes wide open, looking around, while he was still underwater.  It was really, really neat to see that!  Isn’t he a gorgeous baby?!

This little one was born on the perfect day at the perfect time and it really was incredible!  I love waterbirths, I love getting to be surprised by the sex of the baby, I love when older siblings get to be around during/immediately after a birth…  I really could go on and on!  I am so happy that I was there to photograph this delivery, I am pretty sure that in the future when I think back to this one the most predominant memory I will have is *joy.*

This next group of pictures looks a little different and there are a few reasons for that, the biggest one being that I was actually in the shower (seperate from the tub obviously…) shooting the birth through the glass!  That was a 1st for me ~  I have been on countertops and bathtub ledges before, but never in the shower.   heehee!  :-)

This family prayed for another peaceful home waterbirth and for their 1st daughter.   They were very blessed yesterday morning.

Angelica is another repeat client turned bff!  Her daughter Larky was born almost 2 years ago  (yes, that means I was pregnant with Eden at the time, hence the very strong attachment to this family)  after a kind of long labor.  I like to joke that I was there for days/weeks before she was FINALLY born.

This time was much quicker though and Angelica was on top of things!  She woke up at 1 AM with a contraction, called me at 1:14 to give me a “heads up,” called again at 1:36 to tell me to come and had the baby at 5:15 AM (or was that 5:16???) :-D on 5/15.

I spent a lot of time with her during the pregnancy and my womans intuition told me (very strongly) that she was going to have a baby girl, but alas, I was wrong!  Their 1st little boy was born into the water and it was so very exciting!  I am still so happy for them, I never realized how awesome it would be to attend multiple births with a family, but it is really such an honor.  I love you Angelica!
