Wyatt {Fort Worth Birth Photography}

wyattdoddbig

This was one of the most precious births I have ever attended.  It was June.  Mom was only 34 weeks pregnant when she went into labor, after months of bedrest and preterm birth scares.  I remember their biggest desire was for the baby to be healthy enough to breath on his own so he could go skin to skin immediately after he was born. I remember being so impressed with this mother, having had to deal with all of that and she still had an amazing attitude!  I remember thinking “Who am I to wish for anything more than what I have been given when all they want is for their child to take a breath?”

Wyatt was born after a short labor.  His birth was intense, so he didn’t go skin to skin right away.  He did breath though.  And he cried.  The NICU staff was INCREDIBLE and I fell in love with them over and over watching how gently he was handled and how eager they were for dad to be close enough to hold his sons hand.  Thankfully both parents got an opportunity to hold and cuddle Wyatt before he left for a short stay in the NICU.  These are his pictures:

I am in love with everything about this birth!  After one son and one daughter mom and dad let this baby be a surprise.  To tell the family they had printed BOY and GIRL on pink and blue sheets of paper so after the birth when mom was settled in with their new baby BOY in the recovery room dad and I went to the waiting area to tell everyone.  It was so fun watching the older children run down the hall to him when we walked up and to watch everyone crowd around the door waiting for him to reveal what their little bundle was!  Of course, he didn’t even have to unfold the paper before they all knew what it was and they were SO excited!  :-)  I had such a great time with this family!

I am never really sure how much to say about any particular birth because I don’t ever want to betray privacy, but I do want to mention one thing about this delivery…  This mom was a total trooper ~ her water was broken for more than 48 hours before she finally gave birth and she had an amazing attitude until the very end.  Since labor was a long, slow process they did not actually ask me to come until she was about ready to start pushing and when I got there she was exhausted of course, but smiling.  I was so impressed with her!

This birth was completely thrilling to me!  I kept hearing that Harris Methodist Hospital in downtown Ft Worth did indeed “do” waterbirths, but somehow my clients just weren’t the ones having them ~ until Kacie came along!  I was so excited to finally see this for myself!  One more reason to love the area that we are in ~ moms have SO many options available to them!   :-)

Bonnie {Fort Worth Birth Photography}

This was such a fun birth to photograph!  It didn’t go exactly as planned, but both parents had great attitudes and handled everything wonderfully.  Dad was hilarious the entire day ~ I don’t want to just repeat everything  I said on my Facebook photography page so I won’t, but check it out if you care to read some of his funnier comments.
